2004 MZ Mastiff which has a 660cc Yamaha engine. Despite the DDR at the back it’s got nothing to do with the bikes built during the days of the Glorious Socialist Republic.

It’s parked in just the same spot where I’ve previously seen genuine DDR two strokes.

As a former post-soviet MZ owner, I miss the company, and their funky-ass bikes. It’s too bad they couldn’t survive the transition to competition in the world market without government support. Their last few bikes were quir ky, fun, well built.... and a bit overpriced... B ut none theless they had a certain w ei rd something that made them feel like a cross between a BMW and a non-H onda Japanese bike and that was a good thing in my book.
